Traffic between Karachi and Punjab has been severely disrupted due to an ongoing protest by lawyers in Hyderabad.
The protest arose from a legal dispute between the local police and the lawyer community following the registration of a case against Advocate Ali Raza for allegedly using a fake number plate.
The protesting lawyers are demanding the transfer of SSP Hyderabad, Farukh Lanjhar, and the dismissal of the SHO of Bhittai Nagar police station. They are also calling for the withdrawal of the fraud case filed against members of the legal fraternity.

The demonstration, which began at Wadhu Wah Gate on the Hyderabad Bypass, has brought traffic to a complete standstill. The protest has severely impacted the key bypass road linking the Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway with the National Highway, resulting in long vehicle queues and leaving passengers stranded.
Sindh High Court Bar Association President Advocate Ayaz Hussain Tunio has warned that if their demands are not met, the protest will be expanded nationwide.
