ISLAMABAD: The United States has praised Pakistan’s role in helping the Afghan people and sheltering refugees, and announced that it would provide 9.6 million vaccines to prevent coronavirus to the country.
According to details, US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman while talking to media during her visit to Pakistan said that Pakistan and the US have had good relations for decades and Pakistan has been hosting Afghan refugees for decades.
On Pakistan’s role in the situation in Afghanistan, US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman said, “We appreciate Pakistan’s efforts to provide asylum to Afghan refugees. The United States wants Afghanistan to develop. We will continue to take steps to improve the situation.”

Regarding the coronavirus vaccine, Wendy Sherman said that the United States has provided 16 million vaccines to Pakistan this year and we will provide another 9.6 million vaccines. “We have strong bilateral relations with Pakistan. Sheltering Afghan refugees is a commendable process,” she said.
Earlier, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Pakistan wanted a broad-based, long-term, and lasting relationship with the United States to promote economic cooperation and regional peace.
Talking to US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman yesterday, Shah Mehmood Qureshi called for regular and systematic dialogue between the two countries to promote bilateral relations as well as achieve common regional goals.
