7-year-old shot injured by robbers for refusing to hand over his mobile phone in Gadap area of Karachi, marking yet another tragic incident in the city’s wave of violent street crime.
According to the police, the suspects attempted to snatch the boy’s mobile phone, and when he refused to hand it over, they shot him.
The police said that the injured child was transferred to Jinnah Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.
Earlier in July, a 24-year-old youth was shot dead while resisting a robbery attempt in Orangi Town.
Police said the victim, identified as Jibran, had recently returned from Saudi Arabia following the death of his father.
According to family members, he was sitting outside his home when armed robbers approached, shot him, and fled after snatching his mobile phone and purse.
