At least 7 people were killed and several others injured during a clash between two groups of the Dehri tribe over agricultural land in a remote village of Nawab Shah district in Sindh, a private TV channel reported on Sunday.
The incident took place in the nearby village of Wahid Bukhsh Dehri, according to local police.
The deceased were identified as Abdul Nabi Dehri, Ghulam Qadir Dehri, Dilsher Dehri, Hassan Dehri, Haider Dehri, Sethiar Dehri, Saindad Dehri, and Hanif Shahi.
The deceased and the injured were transported to Peoples Medical Hospital in Nawab Shah. Police arrived at the scene and mediated between the two tribes.
In February 2022, five people, including a police official, were killed and seven others injured in a shooting incident involving armed members of a community, stemming from property and agricultural yield disputes.
Communities such as Zardari, Bhand, and others in the Kaccha area of Nawabshah have been embroiled in property and crop disputes.
