PESHAWAR: At least 29 people have died as a result of various accidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab, there was destruction due to wind and rains.
According to the details, rains and wind caused havoc in two provinces of the country, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. 29 people died and more than 150 were injured in the incidents of roofs and walls falling.
Around 15 people lost their lives as a result of the collapse of walls and roofs in Bannu. 5 people including 3 children died in Lakki Marwat and 4 people died in Kirk including 2 young siblings.
In Khushab, 3 sisters were buried under the debris of the wall and died. A maximum number of 100 people were injured in Bannu while more than 40 people were injured in Lakki Marwat as a result of various accidents.
As soon as the incidents were reported, the rescue personnel reached the accident site and the people buried under the debris were rescued. The injured have been shifted to the hospital for medical assistance.

Earlier, strong winds and rain broke the heat wave that had been going on for two weeks across the country. It rained in various cities of the country including Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Lahore, Attock, Bannu, Shahkot, and Sheikhupura.
It also rained in Murree, Shangla, Mingora, Swat, Tank, Lakki Marwat, Shakargarh, and Hangu. Nankana Sahib, Pir Mahal, Bhakkar, and Kasur received rain with wind and thunder.
Electricity feeders were tripped in several districts, and walls, and roofs collapsed in different areas resulting in loss of lives. Last night, rescue sources said that emergency has been implemented in hospitals due to fear of casualties.
