LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has asserted that his party was ready to sacrifice its provincial government in Sindh to overthrow the Imran Khan-led federal government.
“All of us, including me, have decided to resign,” Bilawal Bhutto said, while talking to journalists in Lahore today (Wednesday). He further said that the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) will devise a strategy to use its ‘atom bomb’ against the incumbent government.
Bilawal Bhutto reiterated the opposition demand for the resignation of Prime Minister Imran Khan. “The Opposition would strategise in a way that the country is not destabilized,” he added.
“We know the workings of resistance and negotiations both. However, now that we have launched a movement and are demanding Imran Khan’s resignation, the time for a national dialogue has expired,” he reiterated.
However, Bilawal noted that talks were important in a democratic system. “We want to restore democracy in the country.” In response to a question regarding his meeting with PML-N president Shahbaz Sharif, Bilawal said he had gone there to offer condolences over the demise of Begum Shamim Akhtar.
“However when two politicians meet, there is obviously talk of politics,” he quipped, adding, “We spoke on strengthening the Pakistan Democratic Movement.”
Referring to the sugar and wheat crisis, Bilawal said that PM Imran had failed to alleviate sufferings of the people. “Now there is a looming gas crisis. Our inflation rate is the worst in the region,” he added.
Talking about the APS attack, Bilawal said the current government had failed victims of the APS massacre. “Ehsanullah Ehsan escaped under their watch. PTI have abandoned APS victims and we condemn it,” he concluded.
