Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has reportedly finalized its candidates for the vacant Senate seats from Sindh, as per sources cited by ARY News. The ruling party in Sindh has decided to field nominees for all 12 vacant Senate seats from the province.
According to sources familiar with the matter, PPP has confirmed the following candidates: Sarmad Ali and Barrister Zameer Ghumro for the Technocrat seats, Ainee Mari and Rubina Qaimkhani for women’s reserved seats, and Ponjo Mall Bhel for the minority seat.
Additionally, Sarfaraz Rajjar, Ashraf Jatoi, Masoor Ahsan, Dost Ali Jaiser, and Kazim Shah have been named as PPP candidates for the general seats of the Senate.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has scheduled the Senate elections for April 2, with candidates permitted to file nomination papers until Saturday. Nomination papers will undergo scrutiny on the 19th of this month, with a revised candidate list to be issued on the 26th, and withdrawal of nomination papers allowed until the 27th.
In by-elections held on Thursday, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) secured victory in four out of six Senate seats.”
