Fawad Ali, an emerging talent for the Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), has shared an emotional and inspiring account of his cricketing journey and aspirations.
In an interview with a private news channel, the young bowling all-rounder from Swat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, revealed that his greatest dream is to provide a comfortable life for his father, who works as a labourer.
Discovered through the Swat Talent Hunt Program in 2023, Fawad began his cricket journey playing tape-ball matches in a region with minimal cricket infrastructure.
After his selection, he was brought to Karachi, where his skills were honed professionally.
He made his PSL debut on April 12 at the National Stadium Karachi in a match against the Multan Sultans. Speaking about the experience, Fawad said he wasn’t nervous, thanks to the support of his teammates, especially Captain David Warner and Hasan Ali.
Calling his inclusion in the squad a matter of pride, he stated, “I belong to Swat, and my father is a labourer. It’s an honor to represent Karachi Kings.” He added, “I want to give my parents a life full of comfort, and I’m putting in my best effort for the team.”
Fawad was also part of the squad last season as a replacement for Tim Seifert, who was unavailable due to international commitments.
