Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal has promised to start the Hyderabad-Sukkur Motorway this year, as reported by national media.
According to a report on Monday, Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal, while addressing a press conference at the Pakistan Business Council in Karachi, said that work on the Hyderabad-Sukkur Highway will begin this year and will be completed in three years, while the Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway will be constructed on a new route.
He stated that the PTI government had halted the Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway, which has now doubled the cost. Ahsan Iqbal said a project worth 5 billion rupees has been approved for Karachi’s SITE area, and 100% funding is being provided for the Rs. 125 billion K-IV project.
He said that the political stability and continuity of policies are essential for the country’s development. The federal minister further stated that on April 1, 2022, Pakistan had defaulted, but they brought the country back on track in a short period.
