The whole world is on the verge of destruction from the coronavirus pandemic. First emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan, the coronavirus then traveled to the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, the Gulf countries, and lastly to the subcontinent.
China has managed to eradicate the coronavirus in one of its central cities by fully implementing the lockdown policy, and now all restrictions have been lifted. Life has returned to normal there and industries are reopened.
China is strengthening its economy. In this regard, the United States has blamed China for spreading the coronavirus. United States President Donald Trump has demanded to investigate the Wuhan city laboratory, saying “we believe it is a Chinese plot the virus has been deliberately spread to destroy the whole world.”
In order for us to determine whether the coronavirus is a human creation or a natural disaster, we must first find out who is directly benefiting from the virus and who is suffering the most.
The worst affected from the coronavirus are the poor around the world, small business owners have lodged protests due to lockdowns, millions have lost their jobs globally. However, the international economy will rebound in a short period of time.
The industry and trade of any country are completely jammed, the countries are deprived of imports and exports. However, industries and trade in China are now functional. On the other hand, China has also begun to take unfair advantage of closed industries around the world. Manufacturing of medical devices, in particular, is now in full swing in China at a higher price.
In an interview, Day News Group Chairman Mahmoud Sadiq explicitly accused China of running a business of fear and selling medical equipment in black. He further claimed that China is selling a $3,000 ventilator for $25,000. Through which, China is receiving an additional $22,000 from other countries. He added that the fabric used in the M95 mask is usually sold for $9,000 a tonne and now China is receiving $55,000 a tonne.
The Pakistani government has also bought various medical equipment from China, but the government has not released the details of the equipment. Pakistanis are already notorious for working on commissions. That’s the reason China mostly sell things to Pakistan.
China gets the best price for its substandard goods from the policy of paying commissions to Pakistani greedy rulers. China has not yet made a loss-making deal and now it seems that China is really trading in fear and it is getting a fair price for that.
Unfortunately, the clash between the Centre and Sindh government in Pakistan has opened the eyes of the people. The people of the province have witnessed how the Sindh government is doing business of fear. In this regard, the Sindh government has started showing a rapid increase in the number of coronavirus positive patients.
The politicians elected by the people have not given anything to them but the people of Sindh, especially in the urban areas, are under the shadow of deprivation and despair. This frustration is cursing the 18th Amendment and demanding an immediate end to this unfortunate civil dictatorship (18th Amendment) which has usurped the rights of urban areas of Sindh.
Corona’s fears can be dispelled if the smart lockdown is imposed. And in smart lockdown, all the streets of Sindh where there is a patient suffering from coronavirus should be sealed. After sealing those streets all other provinces, especially the city of Karachi, should be reopened so that some happiness can be shared among the people before Eid, and people can live a free business life.
