Everyone is interested in knowing where Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur is after he was allegedly arrested in Islamabad on Saturday.
There are conflicting reports regarding his alleged arrest, with some claiming that Gandapur was taken into custody by law enforcement agencies from the KP House in Islamabad. However, other reports suggest that he left the KP House before the police and Rangers arrived.
Adviser to the KP CM on Information Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif stated that he has had no contact with the Chief Minister and does not have information about his whereabouts.
This is not the first time CM Gandapur has “gone missing.” Last month, a similar incident occurred when he remained unaccounted for for almost 24 hours in the federal capital. After he reemerged in Peshawar, it was claimed that he had been in dialogue with influential figures in the capital; however, further details of that incident were never disclosed.
It is noteworthy that heavy contingents of police and Rangers entered the KP House in the federal capital on Saturday after CM Gandapur arrived in Islamabad and went to the residence of the provincial government.
However, sources close to the government have rejected reports of the KP Chief Minister’s arrest by law enforcement agencies.
