WhatsApp is set to allow users to share videos of up to one minute in their status updates, According to a report from WABetaInfo. This feature is currently available to Android beta testers in version 2.24.7.6 of the application.
Initially, this development is only accessible to a select group of beta testers. They can now share videos in their status updates that surpass the previous 30-second limit. The report emphasizes the importance of updating WhatsApp to view these longer videos shared via status updates.
This much-anticipated feature from WhatsApp addresses the long-standing requests of users who have been asking for an extension beyond the 30-second limit for video uploads. Aligning with user demands, WhatsApp aims to enable the sharing of one-minute videos on its status feature, akin to Instagram.
As reported by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is currently in the testing phase for this feature, which will allow users to add one-minute long videos to their status updates. With this update, users will no longer need to manually crop or shorten their videos to fit the 30-second limit. WhatsApp will automatically split longer videos into 60-second segments.
Here’s how to use the new feature:
- Open the WhatsApp application on your Android or iOS device.
- Navigate to the ‘Status’ section and tap on the ‘My Status’ icon to upload a video.
- Select the video and ensure it does not exceed one minute in length.
- Once confirmed, upload the video to your status for your contacts to view.
