‘We Salute Khadim Rizvi’ becomes Twitter’s top trending hashtag

KARACHI: ‘We Salute Khadim Rizvi’ has become the top trending hashtag in Pakistan on social networking service Twitter.
In this regard, Human rights activist Kapil Dev posted a tweet in which he wrote the trending of “We Salute Khadim Rizvi” hashtag is a horrific picture of our society.
Dev wrote, “See what is trending top on; WeSaluteKhadimRizvi. Whether the trend is organic or manufactured, in either case, this is a horrific & ugly picture of our society. Where on earth are we heading to? By suppressing the artistic expression we are doing a disservice to art. SHAME!!

Rizvi in 2018, initiated demonstrations in Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Multan against Asia Bibi, who was accused of blasphemy. Despite Supreme Court’s released order, the TLP leader demanded Asia Bibi be put to death.
