KARACHI: Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that we do not need an National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO).
While addressing media today, the former prime minister in Karachi said that he does not need a NRO from anyone. “I demand installation of camera within court premises so people can see live coverage. We do not need an NRO. Moreover, Prime Minister Imran Khan doesn’t have the authority to give NRO to anyone. Only a dictator has the right to do that,” he said.
The former premier further stated that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) government is unable to install a single Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) terminal in two and half years.
“Only LNG can solve all energy issues. We installed cheapest LNG plants in Pakistan and the whole world admitted that. The rates of gas did not increase at all in our tenure as we added additional gas into the system to fulfill needs,” he said.
Abbasi said that cabinet in 2018 decided against importing furnace oil yet they are continuously doing so. Referring to today’s rally, PML-N leader said that ‘Multan film will be witnessed by whole Pakistan’.

He said that in every era, issues are resolved through dialogue and the government is at the behest of the people. “There is a PDM meeting in Multan and I am trying to get there,” he said.
Abbasi said that the PML-N government had a problem of energy crisis but despite this we ensured the supply of cheap electricity and gas. He said that gas prices have not increased in our time but even after two and a half years, there is still power crisis in the country while today we are getting extra gas.
