ISLAMABAD: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing has said that the Chinese government was thankful to Pakistan for showing solidarity in a difficult time.
While addressing a seminar in Islamabad, Yao Jing said that the coronavirus threat would not stop the economic cooperation between China and Pakistan.
He further said that he was thankful for the Pakistani people for providing China strength and more confidence in its tough times.
The Chinese minister said that after six years of implementation of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, the CPEC had become an international plan.
According to Jing, Belt and Road Initiative project provided credible and tangible benefits to the beneficiary’s countries.
Jing said that he was looking at the CPEC in the context of historic China and Pakistan relations, where CPEC has provided new focus and new opportunities on the financial front.
Earlier last month, Federal Minister for Interior Brigadier retired Ijaz Ahmad Shah met Jing at the Ministry of Interior and discussed a range of issues.
The interior minister said that achieving regional peace was significant for global harmony and the government was playing its role to achieve this objective.
The Chinese envoy appreciated the government’s stance on current international matters and said that Pakistan’s role in achieving regional peace was irreplaceable.
The envoy said that the Chinese interior minister would visit Pakistan soon. He thanked the Ministry of Interior for its cooperation and assistance extended during the arrangements.
