ISLAMABAD: An audit report on Pakistan International Airlines Corporation (PIAC) published by the Director-General, Commercial Audit and Evaluation identified a number of irregularities, non-recoveries, breaches of laws and regulations in the appointment of CEO of PIA Arshad Mailk.
The document said Air Marshal Arshad Malik holds two positions one in PAF as an air marshal, and the other in the PIA as CEO. If appropriately chosen then he would have submitted his resignation from PAF to join the PIACL as CEO, the audit report said.

Malik’s selection to the rank of CEO is “based on blatant favoritism”, without following proper rules and regulations in the appointment,” the report said.
The audit report further stated that “Arshad Malik also attempted his appointment through a mix of SECP Rules and Deputation, for the Armed Forces officer to maintain the advantages from both sides, which is really a shocking breach of the relevant rules and transparency system.”
