KARACHI: A viral video circulating across social media platforms has triggered widespread speculation in Pakistan after users claimed it showed national fast bowler Hassan Ali being assaulted during a train journey in Delhi, India.
The posts accompanying the video allege that Hassan Ali, who was purportedly visiting India to meet his in-laws, was abused and beaten with sticks while travelling by train.

The claims quickly spread online, prompting outrage among many Pakistani users, who described the alleged incident as disturbing and called for action if the allegations were found to be true.
However, there is currently no verified evidence to support the claim that the individual seen in the viral footage is Hassan Ali.
The authenticity of the video has come under scrutiny, with several commentators urging social media users to avoid drawing conclusions before official verification.
Among them, Pakistani television anchor Kiran Naz questioned the central claim, saying the man visible in the footage does not resemble Hassan Ali.

She also argued that the background audio suggests the incident may instead involve a person who had allegedly entered a women’s compartment, with police appearing to intervene, rather than an attack targeting the Pakistan cricketer.
Kiran Naz further questioned the narrative surrounding the clip, noting that Hassan Ali is a prominent international cricketer rather than an ordinary traveller. She also pointed out that his wife belongs to a well-known family, raising doubts over claims that he would be travelling alone in such circumstances on a regular passenger train.
As of now, neither the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) nor Hassan Ali has issued any statement regarding the viral video or the allegations being circulated online.
Hassan Ali is married to Indian national Samia Arzoo. The couple tied the knot in Dubai in 2019 in a ceremony attended by family members, friends and Pakistan cricketer Shadab Khan.
Before her marriage, Samia Arzoo worked as an air hostess. Originally from Faridabad in the Indian state of Haryana, she studied aeronautical engineering before moving to the United Arab Emirates for work, where she met Hassan Ali.
