The Punjab government has officially launched the digital portal for the “Apni Chhat, Mehfooz Chhat” (My Roof, Safe Roof) initiative, introduced in memory of the 14 children who tragically lost their lives in a recent roof collapse in the Kahna area.
Under the scheme, eligible Punjab residents can obtain an interest-free loan of up to Rs500,000 to repair, reinforce, and secure the roofs of their homes. Additionally, they may access up to Rs1 million in interest-free financing to construct extra rooms or add another storey to their existing houses.

Check Your Eligibility
Before you apply, make sure you meet the following baseline criteria;
- You must be a permanent resident of Punjab.
- You own an already constructed house on a plot of 5 Marla or less in urban areas, or 10 Marla or less in rural areas.
- You must not be a bank defaulter and your NSER/PMT poverty score must be 60 or less.
- You must not have any criminal record.
- Prepare Required Information
- During the application, you will need to provide:
- Your valid NADRA CNIC (Computerized National Identity Card).
- Exact property location and size.
- Monthly household income and personal profile details.
Application Methods
Access the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar website, select the option to apply for Addition of New Floor/Room, and fill out the digital form with your personal and property details.

Loan & Repayment Structure
- The government provides up to Rs. 5 Lakh interest-free loan to repair or strengthen unsafe roofs.
- You do not have to pay anything for the first 3 months.
- Installment Plan: From the fourth month, the repayment is roughly Rs. 4,700 per month, spread out over 9 years.
- Processing & Interest: The government covers all processing fees and interest, making it 100% interest-free
