KARACHI: Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) and Police jointly conducted an intelligence-based operation and arrested one of the most wanted Lyari gang war commander Sajid alias Sajid Golimar, was involved in murder, attempted murder, police encounter, terrorism and drug trafficking.
According to details released by Sindh Rangers, Sajid had joined the group of Lyari gang war commander Abdul Rehman Baloch alias Rehman daket in 2004.
Later in 2009, at the behest of Lyari gang war commander Uzair Baloch, he joined the Lyari Gang War People’s Peace Committee and was appointed as the commander of the area, and later the accused Arshad Pappu joined the group in 2016.
During the initial investigation, the accused admitted that he was involved in all the illegal activities of Lyari gang war from 2004 to 2014, including extortion, drug selling, illegal possession and delivery of weapons, police encounters and target killing of more than 15 people.
The accused had fled out of the country during the Karachi operation and was running his network from abroad.
The accused had recently returned back to the city and was organizing his network. His name is also included in the Red Book of Sindh Police’s most wanted terrorists.
Rangers said accused had been handed over to the police for further legal action.
