GENEVA: United Nations office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights urged India to restore human rights and to normalize life in Indian occupied Kashmir.
According to report, the clampdown in the valley is near to 100 day mark. The UN said that due to lock-down the population in Kashmir is deprived of wide range of rights.
While expressing its concern over the Indian atrocities, the UN added that the torture on the residents of the occupied valley is unethical and prohibited according to the international laws.
Earlier on 5th of August, the Modi-led government took decision to abrogate special status of IoK, normal life remains paralyzed in the territory. Areas of Muslim majority remained under a curfew under heavy deployment of Indian forces under Section 144.
