ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi held a meeting with his counterpart Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan in Baku on Saturday on the sidelines of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit.
Both leaders discussed the bilateral relations and appreciated the impetus of relationship marked by trust and mutual support to each other at regional and multilateral forums and potential for growth.
President Alvi appreciated Azerbaijan’s continued support on Jammu & Kashmir and valuable contribution as a member of OIC Contact Group on Kashmir.
He assured Pakistan’s reciprocal support to Azerbaijan on the issue of disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh.
He also highlighted the grave human rights violations in occupied Kashmir and imposition of inhuman curfew and communication block out since August 5.
Both leaders also discussed various aspects of bilateral relations including socio-political, and economic and trade relationship.
