UN Secretary General reiterates call for dialogue on Kashmir issue
ISLAMABAD: Responding to a question regarding Kashmir, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres reiterated his call for dialogue between Pakistan and India over Kashmir dispute.
Addressing a conference about Climate Change today (Sunday), he responded to a journalist question about atrocities in Kashmir and said that UN has been expressing clearly that human rights should be respected in Occupied Kashmir.
He advised Pakistan and India to resolve the Kashmir dispute in a peaceful manner, adding that human rights issues needed to be addressed.
The UN Secretary-General on Climate Change said that addressing the challenges of climate change is the common responsibility of the world.
Antonio Guterres urged the world to take action and achieve the set goals of climate change and sustainable development.
He said that the goals of global peace and prosperity are linked with the alleviation of poverty, inequality, and hunger.
He also appreciated PTI-led government steps to address the negative impact of climate change in Pakistan.
