MUMBAI: The Twitter account of Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut’s sister has been suspended over hate speech.
The move comes after Rangoli Chandel, the sister of Indian actress Kangana Ranaut, posted a series of stern tweets that provoked religious hatred and encouraged Islamophobia.
Chandel tweeted, “Police and doctors went to check their families (of COVID-19 patients) they were attacked and killed… make these mullas + secular media stand in a line and shoot them dead… they call us Nazis… who cares, life is more imp than fake image.”
Chandel’s account was immediately suspended after her offensive tweet. Her tweet was based on an incident that happened on Wednesday when a team of doctors and medical staff was attacked by a mob in Moradabad’s Nawabganj area.
The medical team had gone to collect samples in an area where a person who attended the Tablighi Jamaat event had died of COVID-19 earlier this week and 17 others had tested positive.
