Try These Six Home Remedies For An Itchy Scalp

An itchy scalp is definitely quite annoying as it not only makes the scalp tingling but an itchy scalp can lead to excessive hair fall.

Scalp itch is a common condition that has many different causes. People can often find relief from scalp itch using natural home remedies.

People often end up spending a lot of money on trying various hair products, however, trying few home remedies can relieve the scalp from itching. Here are six home remedies that can help in managing an itchy scalp naturally:

1) Olive Oil

Olive oil has skin-protecting agents that help in healing itchiness or infection on the scalp. Heat organic olive oil at a moderate temperature and apply it all over your head, apply this method twice a week.

2) Coconut Oil

Coconut is loaded with anti-fungal properties that can treat itchiness and fungal infections to a great extent. Oiling the hair with coconut oil can help balance moisture.

3) Aloe Vera

Aloe vera gel naturally helps in treating an itchy scalp because of its anti-microbial and soothing properties. Take organic aloe vera gel and apply it directly to your scalp. Leave it for 15-20 minutes and wash it with lukewarm water. 

4) Baking Soda

Baking soda has both anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties that help in killing the bacteria causing infection, hair fall, or itchiness. Take a bowl and add 2-3 tablespoons of baking soda in water and mix it until the consistency becomes like a thick paste, spread it over your scalp for 10 to 15 minutes then wash your hair with a regular shampoo. 

5) Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar has antibacterial and antifungal properties. Dilute apple cider vinegar in warm water and use it as a rinse after shampooing to an itchy scalp.

6) Onion juice

Onion juice has been used since ancient times for curing an itchy scalp. Take a new juicy onion and spray it on your scalp. Leave it on for 20 minutes and then rinse it off with a mild shampoo and lukewarm water.
