The Tribeca Festival has suffered a major data leak that exposed hundreds of thousands of records, including contact details linked to several high-profile entertainment figures such as Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola, Jennifer Lawrence, Angelina Jolie and festival co-founder Robert De Niro.
Cybersecurity researcher Jeremiah Fowler disclosed the breach in an ExpressVPN blog post, stating that he discovered 666,369 exposed records with timestamps dating from 2019 to 2026.
Fowler said he found the unsecured database while conducting routine searches for publicly accessible digital storage.
“I’ve been a security researcher for about 15 years and I’m always looking for exposed data,” Fowler said.
He explained that the database was identified using an IoT search engine designed to locate connected devices and exposed cloud storage systems.
Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Lawrence are among celebrities who had contact details exposed in a data breach.

While much of the leaked material consisted of promotional content, press kits and marketing files, Fowler said a backup folder titled “Contacts” contained more than 13,500 entries. The records reportedly included names, addresses, phone numbers and email accounts associated with entertainment industry professionals.
The database also contained information connected to celebrities including Morgan Freeman, Rami Malek, Eva Mendes, Michael J. Fox, Ron Howard and Guillermo del Toro. Fowler cautioned that not all entries belonged directly to celebrities, with many linked to publicists, managers and assistants.
