A third earthquake struck Balochistan’s Kohlu district on Friday, marking the third seismic event to hit the area within a single day, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The first earthquake was recorded at 10:25am, followed by a second tremor at 10:58am. The third quake occurred at 4:49pm, with a magnitude of 5.1 and a depth of 17 kilometers.
The PMD said the epicenter of the latest earthquake was located approximately 60 kilometers northeast of Kohlu. Tremors were also felt in the districts of Zhob, Barkhan, Rakhni, and Sibi, causing panic among residents, who rushed out of their homes and workplaces as a precaution.
Earlier, the Seismological Centre reported that an earthquake measuring 4.2 magnitude struck Sibi at a depth of 42 kilometers, with its epicenter located 57 kilometers northeast of the city.
Another earthquake measuring 5.0 magnitude was recorded in Kohlu at a depth of 18 kilometers, with its epicenter situated 65 kilometers northeast of the district.
No casualties or damage to property have been reported in the affected areas, according to initial reports.
