MULTAN: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that the legal constitution elected on the badge is morally bound by the government and he does not see Tareen and Aleem Khan group anywhere in the no-confidence motion.
He expressed these views while talking to the media in Multan. Provincial Special Assistant Haji Javed Akhtar Ansari and other personalities were also present on the occasion.
Referring to the Mian Channu incident, he said that the firing of missiles by India into Pakistan was a very irresponsible act. He said, “A third nuclear war could break out between the two nuclear powers. India’s move could have undermined peace in the region, sparking a third nuclear war between the two nuclear powers,” Qureshi asserted.
He called the Acting Indian High Commission in the Foreign Office and demanded a response. “This is a terrible act on the part of India. We have to be satisfied. We are waiting for a proper response from India as Foreign Minister,” he said.
He said the Foreign Office had invited permanent members of the Security Council, including the United States, China, and France, and conveyed its concerns. “India is saying that this was an accident. India’s system is so weak, should they have nuclear weapons?” he questioned.
He said that the accidental launch of the missile was a horrific act. The missile could have affected commercial flights and damaged three flights. He said that the International Aviation Authority should take notice of the violation of the law, international bodies including the United Nations should take action on humanitarian grounds and those responsible should be brought to book, he asserted.
