MUZAFFARABAD: Former Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Sardar Tanvir Ilyas, has accused senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member Pervez Khattak of being behind the ouster of the PTI government in AJK.
This allegation follows reports that PTI Chairman Imran Khan had removed Tanvir Ilyas from his position as the party’s AJK president and replaced him with Sardar Abdul Qayoom Niazi.

According to reports, Imran Khan was angered by the absence of several key members of the group, including President AJK Barrister Sultan Mahmood, former PM Tanvir Ilyas, and new Prime Minister Chaudhary Anwarul Haq from a meeting. This led to the decision to remove Tanvir Ilyas from his post.
Speaking on the matter, Tanvir Ilyas claimed that the PTI government in AJK had been weakened due to a pre-planned conspiracy, orchestrated by Pervez Khattak. He also accused Khattak of being responsible for the government’s downfall, which he claimed was a first for the region.
Tanvir Ilyas has stated that he will bring this issue to the attention of PTI Chairman Imran Khan. He emphasized that there may be differences with party members, but they are united under the PTI flag. In a dig at the ruling coalition, he warned that those attempting to establish a government in the region will also face defeat.
