LAHORE: All set for an epic series decider at the Gaddafi Stadium today (Sunday) as Pakistan will look to overcome resurgent England after an utterly dominant victory from the visitors in the 6th T20I that saw them level the series at 3-3.
The game will begin at 7:30pm.
With more than five overs to spare on Friday night, England reached the 170-run mark thanks to an explosive unbeaten 88 from Salt. The wicket-keeper batsman said they intended to put Pakistan on the defensive in the game that would decide the series.
At a news conference following his man-of-the-match performance, Salt told reporters, “As a team, we know what we do well, and no rethinking is necessary on that front.”
Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan, who struck an unbeaten 87 on Friday, acknowledged that his team had been comprehensively outplayed and that the absences of important pacers Naseem Shah (out with Covid-19) and the rested Haris Rauf were felt keenly. This was due to England’s overwhelming dominance.
If Pakistan is to have any hope of winning the series and the final game, they will need to play significantly better. They fared poorly in their most recent game and will need to dramatically step up if they want to defeat England in their own country.
English players will be seeking to build on their victory over Pakistan by eight wickets in their previous match. When it came to that particular match, England’s first player, Phil Salt, really stepped up the chase, helping Alex Hales build the groundwork for their total while David Willey and Sam Curran also performed well with the ball.
