Sri Lanka secured a comprehensive eight-wicket victory over Australia in the 30th match of the ICC T20 World Cup to qualify for the Super Eight stage.
The match was played in Kandy, where Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to field first.
Australia posted 181 all out in their 20 overs, with the entire side dismissed in the final over. Travis Head top-scored with 56, while Mitchell Marsh contributed 54.
For Sri Lanka, Dushan Hemantha claimed three wickets and Dushmantha Chameera took two.
In reply, Sri Lanka chased down the 182-run target comfortably, reaching it in 18 overs for the loss of just two wickets to seal their place in the Super Eight stage from Group B.
Pathum Nissanka led the charge with an unbeaten 100 off 52 balls, striking 10 fours and five sixes. Kusal Mendis also impressed with 52 from 38 deliveries.
