Sony unveils Vision S to join the race of electric vehicles
LAS VEGAS: Sony stunned the CES 2020 audience with its electric car concept. The prototype named Vision-S showed the firm’s sensors and in-car entertainment technology.
The ongoing CES 2020 in Las Vegas has introduced some amazing consumer electronic products. Fortune 500 companies are racing to develop sustainable and clean products amid global warming situations. The console developer Sony just joined the race.
Sony was a popular consumer electronics producer until emerging companies like Samsung, Huawei and Apple surpassed the multinational conglomerate.
Sony invested in console gaming that was a success in the form of PlayStation. With more and more advancements the simple fact remains that every electronics and software company is moving into real-world mobility.
Vision-S is a completely automated and next-generation vehicle that portrays the companies ability in sensors, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The car is developed to identify passengers to allow gesture control privileges.

Sony has included 33 sensors in the Vision-S prototype. The Japanese tech giant is known to have developed powerful image sensors that can be used to analyze the road in front of a vehicle. Vision-S has a reported zero-to-60-mph time of 4.8 seconds and a max speed of 149 mph.
Sony’s chief executive Kenichiro Yoshida said, “We will accelerate our efforts to contribute to the future of mobility,” adding, “This prototype embodies our contribution to the future of mobility.” 
Sony also announced that its successful image sensor division is also working on technologies that are adjacent to self-driving, including LIDAR and Time-of-Flight cameras. This is remarkable as the company is rapidly reinventing itself by adapting 21rst century trends.
