The Sindh Information Department has released the latest statistics on the inflow and outflow of water in rivers and barrages, according to which there is a medium-level flood at Kotri, while Guddu and Sukkur barrages are experiencing a low-level flood.
According to the Provincial Rain and Flood Emergency Monitoring Cell, the inflow at Guddu Barrage is 260,309 cusecs and the outflow is 231,545 cusecs.
At Sukkur Barrage, the inflow is recorded at 261,554 cusecs and the outflow at 206,434 cusecs, while at Kotri Barrage, the inflow is 364,041 cusecs and the outflow is 339,486 cusecs.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a medium-level flood at Kotri and low-level floods at Guddu and Sukkur barrages.
It should be noted that due to the end of monsoon rains and a reduction in water flow in Punjab’s rivers, the threat of a super flood in Sindh has ended.
The Sindh government, taking precautionary measures, had shifted thousands of people from Kacha (riverine) areas to safe locations.
