LAHORE: Lahore Police have arrested two suspects in separate cases involving alleged sexual abuse and an attempted sexual assault against a woman and a child.
According to police officials, a crackdown against those involved in violence and sexual abuse of women and children is underway on the special instructions of the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations. As part of the ongoing campaign, cases were registered and suspects were arrested in Shahdara Town and Ravi Road.
Attempted Assault on 25-Year-Old Woman
In the first incident, police arrested a suspect in Shahdara Town who allegedly attempted to sexually assault his 25-year-old female relative.
Police said the suspect entered the woman’s room at night and allegedly attempted to assault her. Following the report of the incident, Shahdara Town Police responded promptly and arrested the suspect.
Seven-Year-Old Child Allegedly Abused
In a separate incident, police arrested a man identified as Ali Raza for allegedly sexually abusing a seven-year-old child.
According to police, the suspect allegedly lured the child to the rooftop of a warehouse, where he sexually abused him.
Police said they launched immediate action after receiving information about the incident and arrested Ali Raza.
Police Vow Strict Action
SP City Arshad Hayat Kanjo said a case had been registered against Ali Raza and a detailed investigation was underway.
He said individuals involved in violence, sexual abuse and exploitation of children would not be given any concession and that strict legal action would be taken against those found responsible.
