KARACHI: The website of Sindh Investments was hacked by anonymous users with a message calling for the closure of educational institutes.
“Student Lives are no joke! Shut the schools down. Students are the real assets of a country, don’t destroy your assets,” said a message left on the website as a warning message to the government. “Save Students! Save Pakistan!” it added.
The government has refused to close educational institutes despite the rising number of cases. A meeting of inter-provincial ministers presided by federal education minister Shafqat Mahmood at the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC) failed to reach a consensus on the closure of schools.
The decision was deferred to the next meeting on 23rd November. The federal minister said the health and lives of students was precious and they would take any risks. He urged all educational institutes to ensure that SOPs and safety precautions are strictly enforced.
