Sindh govt approves operation against dacoits in Kacha area

Karachi: The Pakistan Army, Rangers, and police have received approval from the Sindh government to develop a plan for starting an operation against dacoits in the Kacha area on Friday.

The Interim Chief Minister of Sindh, Justice (R) Maqbool Baqir, presided over the meeting of the 28th Apex Committee, where this decision was made.

The conference was briefed on the state of law and order by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, who reported 220 incidences of kidnapping for ransom while 210 abducted people from various locations were found.

Additionally, the police and Rangers received permission from the chief minister of Sindh to start work on the Ghotki to Kashmore bridge.

The Corps Commander informed the gathering that the crackdown on arms smuggling is ongoing and that a sizable number of military-grade weapons have been recovered from Ghotki.

He said that a strategic operation against dacoits started in Sindh and that the military would supply the most up-to-date weapons for the operation to begin.

In the discussion, people have also expressed happiness with the drop in murder cases this year.

The interim Chief Minister of Sindh gave the CEO of the Water Corporation instructions to strengthen the perimeter around the water thieves after the DG Rangers briefed the meeting on the measures against illegal hydrants.

Provincial Ministers Brigadier (Retd) Haris Nawaz, Umar Soomro, Corps Commander Karachi Lieutenant General Babar Iftikhar, Chief Secretary Dr Fakhar Alam, Advocate Hasan Akbar, DG Rangers Major General Azhar Waqas, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Hasan Naqvi, Home Secretary Iqbal Memon, IG Police Rifat Mukhtar, provincial heads of sensitive institutions and others were also present in the meeting.
