The Sindh government has begun reviewing possible measures in light of the ongoing regional tensions, including the option of a smart lockdown.
Provincial Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, speaking to the media in Sukkur, stated that the government is evaluating various options in response to the evolving situation. He added that meetings are being held on a daily basis to assess developments and make timely decisions.
He noted that the petrol quota for official vehicles has already been reduced by up to 60 per cent in order to conserve fuel. He emphasised that the current circumstances are not normal and, if the situation persists, it could impact multiple sectors.
Nasir Hussain Shah further said that swift and effective decisions are required under the present conditions to mitigate potential challenges and provide relief to the public.
Meanwhile, the federal government is also considering potential measures, including a smart lockdown and the possible closure of educational institutions until 15 April.
