ISLAMABAD: Chairman China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority Lt. General (retired) Asim Saleem Bajwa has said that tripartite agreement signing ceremony for Kohala Hydel Power Project will be held today.
In a tweet on Thursday, the CPEC chairman wrote, “Historic day-Tripartite Agreement signing ceremony for Kohala Hydel Power Project being held today.”

Asim Saleem Bajwa wrote that $2.4 billion is being invested in one Independent Power Producer (IPP) of the largest power sector. With Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan’s clear direction to expedite CPEC projects, all stakeholders worked hard to bring this day, he further wrote.
Earlier, he said the second phase of CPEC will help revamp the basic infrastructure of the country and create job opportunities. Bajwa further said that the phase-II of the mega project has been started, which will provide further investment opportunities to foreign investors in Special Economic Zones.
The Chairman CPEC Authority said that the agreement would boost foreign investment in the mega project leading to prosperity in the region. He said that all the projects under the first phase are being completed on a fast track basis.
He said 80 energy projects have been completed while nine projects are under completion. He said two energy projects will also be part of phase-II.
