After the criticism on social media regarding the presence of a woman, Shama Junejo, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his team at the United Nations, the Foreign Ministry had to clarify that the concerned woman was not included in the Pakistani delegation. However, now the concerned woman’s detailed statement has come forward in which she has claimed that she was participating in the Pakistani mission as an advisor to the Prime Minister.

Shama Junejo wrote that she had been working for Pakistan and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for the past several months, during the Pakistan-India war her policy briefs, advice and points were all part of the record and preserved.

On her X account, Shama Junejo wrote that the Prime Minister gave her the task of writing the United Nations speech and himself made her part of the delegation, her name was formally included as an advisor and her security pass was issued in this regard. She worked day and night with his team and traveled with him.

On social media, she wrote that she stayed in the same hotel with the Prime Minister and his team, she was part of his most important sideline meetings like with Bill Gates whose footage was also aired on TV, at the Climate Conference she was sitting behind the Prime Minister along with Ishaq Dar whose ministry tweeted about her that she was not part of the delegation.

She said that after this conference, the protocol team took her to the AI Conference where behind Khawaja Asif, Bilal and she sat together the whole time, and Bilal was also writing a new speech. After this speech they had tea together, sat together for 40 minutes waiting for the car, took more pictures again, and all three returned to the hotel together in the same car, with Khawaja Asif sitting in the back seat with her.

Shama Junejo also wrote that on the last day at the time of the Prime Minister’s speech she was at the United Nations with everyone, where Khawaja Asif was sitting in front of her and all of them together clapped for the Prime Minister.

She said on X that the Prime Minister’s historic speech was not written by her alone, it was a part of teamwork, and everyone’s effort was included, her return flight was already scheduled and the mission protocol officials themselves dropped her to the airport.

She said why Khawaja Asif is now giving such statements and under which agenda he is maligning a historic visit of his own government, the Prime Minister should ask him, because his authority has been challenged, not hers!
