ZHOB: Several people are reported to have been hurt and vehicles damaged as a result of heavy landslides triggered by torrential rains on Zhob-Dera Ismail Khan highway.
According to information gathered by MM News, National Highway connecting Zhob with Dera Ismail Khan has been closed for the next 24 hours due to heavy landslides.
The Pakistan Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) said the landslide hit the point of Khan Rosh Dana Sar in Zhob, Dera Ismail Khan causing severe damage to several vehicles and reports of injuries to several people have also emerged.
Officials said the heavy rain has caused a flood-like situation in the mountainous area of Sulaiman Range, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the border area of Balochistan. Many passenger buses and vehicles have been stuck at Dana Sar, and the local administration has warned the people not to travel on the highway.
The closure of the highway has caused inconvenience to travelers and motorists who were stranded due to the closure. Local authorities are reported to have deployed rescue teams to the affected area to assist those stranded and to remove the debris from the road. The locals are advised to take precautions and stay safe in these adverse weather conditions.
