ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly on Tuesday is set to vote on the three parliamentary bills on the appointment of service chiefs and chairman of the joint chief of staff committee after they were approved for a second time by the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Defence.
After the NA standing committee’s unanimous endorsement of the bills, which also included opposition members, during Monday’s in-camera session, indicates that the bills are expected to pass smoothly through the lower house.

The amending bills will also be presented in the Senate on Tuesday before being referred to the security committee of the Senate, which is scheduled to approve the bills on the same day.
According to the expedited timetable negotiated between the opposition and the government. On Wednesday, the Senate is likely to vote on the bills, after which they will finally go for presidential approval.
