KARACHI: Shaniera Akram, wife of former captain Wasim Akram has strongly opposed child labour in the country.
Shaniera Akram took to Twitter and wrote that if people really want to look after a staff member’s child then they should send them to school instead of work, Akram wrote.
“ANYONE who has a person working for them in their house who is under the age of 14, & I don’t care if they are your longtime staff members son or daughter whos living with you, you are breaking the law. If you really want to look after that child then send them to school not work!”, Akram wrote.

According to her, people are breaking the law even that staff member is 14 years old. Moreover, Akram recently expressed disappointment in how the citizens in Pakistan stopped adhering to social distancing since the lockdown was lifted.
She said, “Seeing footage of traffic blocked roads, congested streets and market places and hundreds of people without even a mask on. This country makes me want to cry.”
