Muhammad Umair Arif, a rising Pakistani junior squash star, has won the Under-17 title at the Hong Kong Junior Squash Open.
He captured the U17 championship by defeating England’s Luke McBride in a thrilling 3-2 comeback final (4-11, 11-6, 11-5, 9-11, 11-4). He was also the runner-up in the same tournament.
Muhammad Umair Arif has represented Pakistan on the international stage before. He is currently ranked as the No. 1 junior player in the U17 category by the Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF).
He represented Pakistan at World Junior Squash Championships in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada. He helped Team Pakistan secure an unbeaten run in the group stage by comfortably defeating Switzerland’s Morris Frey 3-0.
He also won the gold medal at the Sportplex Junior Gold Tournament in the United States, dominating Vitrano Knox 3-0 in the final.
