KARACHI: Several religious organizations have strongly criticized University of Sindh (SU), Jamshoro, for including question related to Ahmadiyya community, terming it a ‘terrible conspiracy’.
General-Secretary of Aalmi Majlis Tahaffuz Khatm-i-Nabuwat, Mufti Muhammad Tahir, has called on Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani to take notice of the issue immediately, calling for a strict action against the administration of the varsity.
Leaders of other religious organization, while calling Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani and Ghulam Ahmad Pervez ‘Kafir’, lashed out at Sindh government and asked how why the provincial government was not taking action against the administration. “The move aims to promote Islamophobia and Ahmadiyya community, which we Muslims will not allow under any circumstances,” they added.
Mufti Muhammad Tahir further said, “We will file a blasphemy case against the person who had compiled the admission paper,” adding that if the provincial government failed to take action, the organizations will hold a protest soon.
The administration of Sindh University had reportedly included a question related to the Ahmadiyya community in the pre-entry test for admissions to M.Phil in 13 disciplines of Social and Natural Sciences Faculties.
Students were required to get 40 marks, out of 100 marks of a set of MCQs (multiple-choice questions) based on their respective field, to qualify for admissions. One of the MCQs was related to Ahmadiyya community’s book.
According to the test paper obtained by M.M News, the administration asked who wrote the Tafsirat-e-Ahmadiyya. The options include Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani, Ghulam Ahmad Pervez, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan and Mullah Jeewan.
