A viral image of a grave circulating on social media. This image is being widely shared on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and others.
Some people claim that this image is of the final resting place of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). In the picture, the grave is visible in a spacious room, covered with a green cloth.
According to Al Arabia, some individuals who posted this image have invited others to like and comment on it. They have presented it as an image from inside the Rawdah of the Prophet (peace be upon him).
The news agency ‘AFP’ has published this image as a news story. According to AFP, this image is not of the Prophet’s chamber (Hujra) as the interior of that chamber is not visible in the picture.
It’s important to note that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) resided in the chamber connected to Masjid Nabawi in Madinah Munawwarah, and the last days of his life were spent in this chamber. His blessed resting place is also there.
Before the advent of Islam, Madinah Munawwarah was known as Yathrib. As the expansion of Masjid Nabawi continued, the Chamber of the Prophet and the grave became enclosed within the precincts of the mosque.
Regarding the claimed grave image, it is incorrect. Some users suggest that this grave is actually located in the Sultanate of Oman. Local residents believe it to be an image of the final resting place of Prophet Ayub (Job), and he is honored in all three Abrahamic religions.
This image was first published on several websites many years ago and was disseminated by the international agency in 2007.
