RDA officer handed over to ACE on 3-day physical remand

RAWALPINDI: A local court on Wednesday granted the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) a three-day physical remand of Deputy Director Planning Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) in a case related to an illegal housing society.

As per details, Senior Civil Judge Rawalpindi Muhammad Ikram Ranjha has approved a 3-day physical remand of Samiullah Khan Niazi, Deputy Director Planning, RDA, in a case of extorting billions from citizens in the name of illegal housing society “Air View Housing Society.”

The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has booked some senior officials of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) for playing with the lives of innocent people. The RDA officials have given permission to start the construction of illegal housing societies.

The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has booked the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Deputy Director (Planning) Samiullah Khan Niazi and Scheme Inspector Shafqat Mehmood in two cases.

The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has registered two FIRs No.18/20 against the senior officials of the planning and land departments of RDA. The corrupt officials of RDA have been booked under Sections of 420, 468, 471, 109 PPC, (5) 2/47.

The owners of the Air View Housing Society along with RDA officials not only extorted billions from innocent citizens in the name of advertising illegal housing society and sale of plots but also gave in national exchequer huge losses in terms of fees, according to the complaint.

Similarly, despite holding public office, the officials secretly facilitated the owners of the illegal society and did not take any legal action at any level.

Director Zahid Zahoor presented Samiullah Khan Niazi in the court and pleaded a 3-day physical remand.
