RAWALPINDI: Police have claimed to have arrested a suspected robber in Rawalpindi’s Naseerabad area after an encounter on Wednesday.
According to sources, two street criminals including, Salman and his accomplice, tried to loot a citizen in the Naseerabad area. However, police reached the scene, seeing police the robbers opened fire.
One dacoit was injured during the exchange of fire while his accomplice managed to escape from the scene. Naseerabad police arrested the injured dacoit and shifted to hospital for first aid.
According to police, Suleiman was wanted by Rawalpindi Islamabad police in several robbery cases. Raids are being carried out in the nearby areas to arrest the escaped robbers.
Meanwhile, Jatli police arrested a three-member gang involved in robberies. According to details, Jatli police station recovered snatched goods, a large number of biscuits, bottles, and other valuables from the possession of the accused.
The arrested suspects have also confessed to committing several robberies in Attock and Chakwal districts. A team by ASP Gujjar Khan and SHO Jatli led by Superintendent Saddar traced the accused with intelligence and modern interrogation methods.
