Ramazan and Charity

The ongoing lockdown in Pakistan due to the coronavirus pandemic has affected the entire population. The poor segments of the society, as well as the middle class, are struggling to maintain a peaceful life amid lockdown.
Mere claims were made by the government, however, nothing happened. The poor and middle class may be affected by the coronavirus, but the lockdown has certainly harmed these deprived classes.
The government had fulfilled its responsibility by simply issuing lockdown orders and left the starving and the thirsty people at the mercy of circumstances. In such a situation, the well-settled persons facilitated them by providing cash assistance of rations at their doorsteps.
In urban areas, the situation is somewhat under control because the well-settled community is helping their needy brothers. But the situation is much worse in rural areas because there is no one to assists the poor people.  They are in stern need of help.
Amid the ongoing holy month of Ramazan, we need to find such deserving people and help them according to our affluence. The well-settled persons should help the poor people in the rural areas of Sindh, Punjab, and Balochistan where people are suffering worse situations.
According to the Islamic point of view, it is considered a good deed to show kindness towards needy people. And nowadays every good deed of a person is counts double.
We can never be guided except with the help of Allah. Praise be to Allah Who has favoured the month of Ramadan over all other months and made it a great opportunity to attain rewards by committing good deeds. It is the month of benevolence and blessings.
Charity obliterates sin, extinguishes the wrath of the Lord and protects from evil destinies. Giving charity correctly is crucial to both the well-being of the needy as well as the ultimate happiness of the wealthy.
In the holy month of Ramadan, one should help others with words, deeds, spiritually, physically, and financially. We should help the needy through our zakat and charity. People should also help religious institutions during the holy month of Ramadan, which also runs their affairs with the help of donations.
