LAHORE: YouTuber Rajab Butt has firmly rejected circulating rumors about an alleged marriage with actress Durefishan Saleem, emphasizing he has no connection to the false claims or those spreading them.
In an interview, Butt categorically denied involvement in fabricating or spreading the unsubstantiated story, which gained traction on social media platforms without any credible source.
The 9-million-subscriber YouTube personality stated he neither knows who created the rumors nor is affiliated with those amplifying them.
Rajab Butt expressed frustration over discovering the viral claims without warning, explaining that magazines initially published the story before it spread widely across social media. “One day I opened my eyes and saw that this news had gone viral and everyone was asking me about it,” he said in the interview.
The YouTuber emphasized Durefishan Saleem’s standing as a respected senior artist in the entertainment industry, noting their professional separation.
“She belongs to a different field and is doing excellent work in her field,” he stated, adding that he has had no contact with the actress despite the controversy.
Rajab Butt called the rumors baseless, while Durefishan Saleem’s stylist released an official statement refuting the claims.
Butt clarified that his public statement stems from concern for the actress’s reputation.
“I was saddened to read this news because people do not even confirm such things,” he explained, citing his respect for her professional standing as motivation to address the unfounded reports.
