RAWALPINDI: Quetta Gladiators suffered a setback as bowling action of their spinner Usman Tariq has been reported for his suspicious action during the ongoing ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 9).
His bowling action came under scrutiny during his team’s recent match against Karachi Kings, officiated by on-field umpires Richard Illingworth and Asif Yaqoob.
In the ongoing PSL 9 season, Usman Tariq has participated in three matches but has only managed to take two wickets so far.
In another development, Quetta Gladiators suffered a heavy seven-wicket defeat against Karachi Kings after being dismissed for a mere 118 runs.
Chasing a modest target of 119 runs, Karachi Kings reached the target comfortably with 4.3 overs to spare, with Shoaib Malik hitting a six off Usman Tariq to seal the victory.
Although Captain Shan Masood’s early dismissal left the team at 13 runs, Seifert and James Vince formed a crucial 50-run partnership off 39 balls to stabilize the innings.
James Vince played a pivotal role, scoring 27 runs off 28 balls, including four boundaries, before being dismissed by Akeal Hosein.
