QUETTA: The Inspector General of Balochistan Police has submitted an initial investigation report on the recent Quetta blast to Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, which killed 14 people including three FC personnel.
A high-level review meeting was held in Quetta under the chairmanship of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, where the IG Balochistan briefed officials on the preliminary findings of the investigation into the blast.
The meeting reviewed security lapses and the overall law and order situation following the attack near Chaman Phatak railway track in Quetta.
Authorities strongly condemned the incident and reiterated their resolve to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said the federal government stands with the people of Balochistan and vowed that those responsible for destabilizing peace would be dealt with firmly.
Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti also assured that the provincial government would not abandon the families of martyrs and would continue counterterrorism efforts in coordination with federal authorities.
According to officials, the explosion on the railway track in Quetta resulted in the deaths of 16 people, including three Frontier Corps personnel, while several others sustained injuries.
